Last night the game between the Lakers and the Cavs ended with the very clear score of 112 to 57 in favor of the Californian team. The partial quarters scores were just as clear: 27 to 12, 30 to 13, 35 to 16 with only a fourth quarter of total garbage time that had a purely statistical interest which ended with a 20 to 16 score.

During the week end the rumor that Facebook is going to close on March 15 started spreading. It seems that an on line tabloid started this rumor reporting alleged statements from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who allegedly stated that running the site has become too stressful. Well, considering that the same site reports that aliens are going to attack the Earth during this year that’s not prticularly shocking news.

Algis Budrys in 1985

Algirdas Jonas Budrys was born on January 9, 1931 in Königsberg, East Prussia. His father was consul general of the exiled Lithuanian government and in 1936 his family found sanctuary in the U.S.A., where he lived for the rest of his life.

Algis Budrys died from cancer on June 9, 2008.

Psychological development is very important in Algis Budrys’ stories: action is generally limited and it just leads to consequences on the characters’ minds. His attention to the characters’ development brought him the critics’ favor, not always the general public appreciation yet his stories are interesting to read for that very reason.

On January 7, 1961, in the UK the first episode of the show “The Avengers” was broadcast. The show went on until 1969 and it’s one of the most famous British TV shows of that era. Patrick Macnee was a protagonist in all its seasons and in “The New Avengers”, the TV show that in the ’70s tried to renew the success of “The Avengers”.
