Herovit's World by Barry N. Malzberg (Italian edition)

The novel “Herovit’s World” by Barry N. Malzberg was published for the first time in 1973. Jonathan Herovit is a science fiction writer who’s going through a period of crisis. At 38 years he has written more than 90 novels and hundreds of short stories with the pen name Kirk Poland. He signed a contract with a major publisher to publish another novel in his Survey Team series but is having big trouble to write it. He recently had a daughter but the relationship with his wife is in crisis too.

In December 2010, the discovery of a bacterium called GFAJ-1 in Mono Lake in California caused quite a sensation. The scientists who studied it declared that it was capable of using arsenic instead of phosphorus among the basic elements of its biochemistry. Now two new studies disprove that this bacterium uses arsenic in its DNA.

Time and Again by Jack Finney

The illustrated novel “Time and Again” by Jack Finney was published for the first time in 1970. One day, Simon Morley is approached by the representative of a secret U.S.A. government project whose purpose is to travel in time. After a period of intense training, Simon is among the first candidates able to travel into the past. At that point, he asks to go to New York in 1882 to solve a mystery related to his girlfriend’s family.

“The Ark in Space” is an adventure of the twelfth season of “Doctor Who” classic series which aired in 1975 featuring the Fourth Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith and Harry Sullivan. It follows “Robot” and it’s a four parts adventure written by Robert Holmes and directed by Rodney Bennett.
