Yesterday, actor Michael O’Hare passed away. On Sunday he had a heart attack and was in a coma.

Michael O’Hare was born on May 6, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated in English literature at Harvard and studied acting at the Juilliard School of Drama.

Michael O’Hare worked extensively in theater productions, including on Broadway, such as “Man and Superman”, “Players” and the stage version of “A Few Good Men.” He was the first white man nominated by the New York black theater community for the AUDELCO Award for the Best Actor for his performance in the play “Shades of Brown”, which covered the theme of the apartheid in South Africa.

Michael O’Hare is particularly famous for his role as Commander Jeffrey Sinclair in the science fiction TV show “Babylon 5”. O’Hare was the main character in the pilot TV movie and the first season, then returned as a guest star for a few episodes to complete his character arc with a big twist in the third season of the show.

Michael O’Hare has also guest starred in several other TV shows such as “Kate & Allie”, “One Life to Live”, “Trapper John, M.D.”, “The Equalizer”, “Law & Order”, “L.A. Law” and “Tales from the Darkside”.

For some years, Michael O’Hare practically disappeared from the spotlight and the creator of “Babylon 5” J. Michael Straczynski started looking for him. In July 2011, he reassured fans by announcing he found him. Had provided no more information for privacy reasons, so we don’t know if O’Hare already had health problems.

Now Michael O’Hare is remembered as a great person, kind and funny. He passed away far too soon!
