Carlo Rambaldi in 2010

The great master of movies special effects Carlo Rambaldi died today. He was born on September 15, 1925 in Vigarano Mainarda, Italy. During his career, he won three Oscars for visual effects and special effects: for the 1976 movie “King Kong”, the 1979 movie “Alien” and 1982 movie “ET the Extra-Terrestrial”.

The Commercial Crew Program (CCP) is a NASA program that aims to help the development of commercial space transportation. A collaboration with private companies will give the opportunity to reach the International Space Station and the low earth orbit and back in a reliable, economical and safe manner. The agency has announced the names of companies that will be funded to develop spacecrafts capable of carrying people into orbit.
