Doctor Who - Revenge of the Judoon by Terrance Dicks

The novella “Revenge of the Judoon” by Terrance Dicks was published for the first time in 2008. The Tenth Doctor and Martha Jones arrive at Balmoral, in 1902. There they meet Captain Carruthers, who’s in the service of King Edward VII. Together they go to the castle but when they arrive they find that it’s disappeared. From the traces left in the ground, the Doctor and Martha immediately understand that it’s the Judoon’s doing.

Yesterday, Neil Armstrong, the first man to set foot on the Moon, passed away. Neil Alden Armstrong was born on August 5, 1930 in Wapakoneta, Ohio. On July 21 he became the first man to walk on the moon, a milestone in the history of mankind.

Doctor Who - The Sea Devils

“The Sea Devils”, is an adventure of the ninth season of “Doctor Who” classic series which aired in 1972 featuring the Third Doctor and Jo Grant. It follows “The Curse of Peladon” and it’s a six parts adventure written by Malcolm Hulke and directed by Michael Briant.

Yesterday, the Mars Rover Curiosity completed its first test drive. It hasn’t moved very far and at the end it was about 6 meters (about 20 feet) away from the point where it landed on Mars. During this test it moved forward, reverse and turning combining the various movements. Yesterday, NASA also announced that it officially named the Mars Rover Curiosity’s landing site Bradbury Landing after the great writer Ray Bradbury, who passed away last June and yesterday would’ve turned 92. “The Martian Chronicles” are one of the masterpieces of this writer, to honor him in this way was the least they could do.

Other Days, Other Eyes by Bob Shaw (Italian edition)

The novel “Other Days, Other Eyes” by Bob Shaw was published for the first time in 1972. Alban Garrod invented a particularly strong crystal but only after a series of strange accidents with cars that use it and a near tragedy with an airplane that uses it he realizes its true uniqueness: when light passes through it, it seems to slow down dramatically.
