Ian Watson in 2009

Ian Watson was born on April 20, 1943 in North Shields, Northumberland, England. During his career he wrote many science fiction stories. A theme dear to Ian Watson is that of the reality we perceive as subjective and partial. In many of his stories, the author explores many different ways to generate broader realities, which are never completeteley successful due to the limitations of human beings.

A few days ago the results of the SuperCDMS (Cryiogenic Dark Matter Search) Collaboration were presented concerning the analysis of the data obtained through silicon detectors during the CDMSII experiment for the search for dark matter. Some events are new clues to the discovery of this elusive type of matter.

Doctor Who - The Sensorites

“The Sensorites” is an adventure of the first season of “Doctor Who” classic series, which aired between June and August 1964 featuring the First Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Susan. It follows “The Aztecs” and it’s a six parts adventure written by Peter R. Newman and directed by Mervyn Pinfield (parts 1 – 4) e Frank Cox (parts 5, 6).

A team of scientists has reconstructed a skeleton of Australopithecus sediba, a hominid that lived about two million years ago, putting together the bones of some partial skeletons found in 2008 in Malapa, about 45 km (about 30 miles) from the capital city of South Africa, Johannesburg.
