In Europe it was night and in the Americas it was still Friday afternoon when Google services went off line for a few minutes. The immediate consequence was a drop of about 40% of the Internet traffic, which means that it almost halved. The various Google services have returned to work after a few minutes causing a spike in traffic but the drop shows the great importance of Google.

As promised, the billionaire Elon Musk has announced some details, although by his own admission they’re in alpha stage, of the project Hyperloop, a new transport system able to carry passengers at speeds that can reach more than 1,100 km/h (more than 700 mph) at costs much lower than those of high-speed trains and a very low ticket cost.
