New privacy issues on Facebook
Last Friday Facebook announced that now it will be possible for applications to gain access to users’ addresses and mobile phone numbers. If in the past the fact that applications could gain access to users’ personal information had raised some criticism now the issue has become even more sensitive.
Happy birthday Wikipedia!
Wikipedia, the collaborative multilingual encyclopedia, was born on January 15, 2001. The term wiki means quick in Hawaiian and in informatics it was adopted to describe a technology for creating collaborative websites. The term wiki was joined to encyclopedia to form Wikipedia so the term means fast culture.
Facebook is closing on March 15? Yes, E.T. told me that!
During the week end the rumor that Facebook is going to close on March 15 started spreading. It seems that an on line tabloid started this rumor reporting alleged statements from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who allegedly stated that running the site has become too stressful. Well, considering that the same site reports that aliens are going to attack the Earth during this year that’s not prticularly shocking news.
A month of digital terrestrial television
It’s been one month since my transition to digital terrestrial television after the switch off in my region. Initially I did a new channels automatic scan and store almost every day to check if there were new ones and if some of them changed number. After some days I started doing it only once a week because I noticed that at that point the problems I initially had with some national channels had disappeared and sometimes no new channels appeared.
