Patrick James Riley was born on March 20, 1945 in Rome, New York, USA. As an NBA player he won a title with the Los Angeles Lakers. As an NBA coach he won four titles with the Los Angeles Lakers and one with the Miami Heat. As the Miami Heat president he won two more NBA titles.

On Tuesday December 30, 2014 the Euroleague Basketball 2014/2015 Top 16 is starting. The formula is the one inaugurated two years ago, with two groups consisting of 8 teams each and consequently longer than the regular season. This time a few games of the first gameday are played early at the end of this year before finishing it on January 2, 2015.

Next Tuesday, October 28, the NBA championship 2014/2015 will start. This season sees the return of the Charlotte Hornets, who take the name of the first city’s team after New Orleans changed its nickname to Pelicans.

The hunt for the San Antonio Spurs is starting. Will LeBron James win the title again after going back to the Cleveland Cavaliers?

Drazen Petrovic was born on October 22, 1964 in Sibenik, in the then Yugoslavia, now Croatia. He conquered many titles in the Yugoslavian league and at International level with Cibona Zagreb and the Yugoslavian national team. Considered a national hero in Croatia, where a museum dedicated to him was opened, Drazen Petrovic was included in the American Hall of Fame in 2002, a global recognition of his greatness. He’s one of the greatest players in the history of European basketball, with an extraordinary individual technique and exceptional mental strength that made him an absolute winner. He died tragically on June 7, 1993 in a car accident.

On October 15, 2014, the Euroleague 2014/2015 starts. Game 1 will start on Wednesday but in the following ones the games will be generally played on Thursday and Friday like in the last two seasons. For Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv defending the title surprisingly won last season seems impossible.
