The Many Hands by Dale Smith

The novel “The Many Hands” by Dale Smith was published for the first time in 2008.

The Tenth Doctor and Martha Jones are in Edinburgh in the 18th century when the passage of a stagecoach carrying Benjamin Franklin becomes turbulent due to a strange man who tries to attack the driver, who loses control of the horses. The Doctor tries to stop the stagecoach with the complication of some British soldiers who shoot in his direction.

Eventually, Martha Jones manages to get in front of the stagecoach by taking a shortcut and tries to use the sonic screwdriver to stop it. The strange attacker is hit by the gunfire and the soldiers arrest the Doctor and Martha, who realizes that the attacker is a corpse who has been dead for some time.

“Joy to the World” is the 2024 “Doctor Who” Christmas special episode. It’s available in the UK and Ireland on BBC channels and in many other countries on the Disney+ platform.

The Fifteenth Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) arrives at a hotel in the year 4202 that offers access to different moments in history. He sees a strange man at the reception with a briefcase attached to him with a chain and becomes suspicious. He starts investigating with the help of security guard Trev (Joel Fry) but the briefcase is passed from person to person until a Silurian takes it to another hotel in 2024. The Doctor follows him and arrives at a room recently rented by Joy Almondo (Nicola Coughlan), much to the confusion of her and manager Anita (Stephanie de Whalley).

Dark Horizons by Jenny T. Colgan

The novel “Dark Horizons” by Jenny T. Colgan was published for the first time in 2012.

A Viking ship is carrying Freydis, the Duke of Trondheim’s daughter, promised in marriage to the King of Iceland. It’s an arranged marriage and Freydis is held prisoner on the ship to prevent her from trying to escape what she believes to be a terrible fate. When a sort of tentacle of fire comes out of the sea and hits the ship, panic breaks out on board.

On a nearby Scottish island, the inhabitants see the fire from the shore, and in the village, everyone goes to see the strange show. No one can do anything but the Eleventh Doctor has arrived on the island and has gone to see the source of the commotion. He intervenes and saves the ship’s crew but the strange fire is a threat to everyone on the island too and the Tardis starts acting up.

Long Time Dead by Sarah Pinborough

The novel “Long Time Dead” by Sarah Pinborough was published for the first time in 2011.

The Department has assigned a military unit to explore the remains of Cardiff’s Torchwood Hub to see what was left in the rubble after its destruction. When one of the scientists is found dead, the incident is kept quiet but this becomes increasingly difficult after the start of a strange series of deaths that include suicides of people who leave notes with the words “I remember”.

Suzie Costello has woken up. She has no idea how she came back to life although she senses a presence inside her that seems very hungry. She can move freely thanks to false paper and money that she had hidden but she must be careful with her actions because Tom Cutler is leading the investigation into the victims that Suzie is leaving behind.

Borrowed Time by Naomi A. Alderman

The novel “Borrowed Time” by Naomi A. Alderman was published for the first time in 2011.

Andrew Brown found himself working in a large bank such as the Lexington International Bank almost by chance. Little by little, he climbed the ladder of its hierarchy but he struggles more and more due to the lack of time to do everything he’s asked in the best possible way. When the mysterious Mr. Symington and Mr. Blenkinsop make him a surprising proposal, he accepts without understanding all the consequences.

Amy Pond and Rory Williams are having a rather peculiar holiday but something doesn’t go very well. The Eleventh Doctor decides to show them the greatest banking collapse in history but when he and his companions arrive at the Lexington International Bank, he discovers strange things that convince him to investigate.
