The Dallas Mavericks eliminates the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA playoffs Western Conference semifinals.

Isiah Lord Thomas III (photo ©Keith Allison) was born on April 30, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois. He won the NCAA title in 1981 and the NBA title in 1989 and 1990. He was introduced in the Hall of Fame in 2000.

The Memphis Grizzlies eliminated the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA playoffs first round winning the series 4-2.

Last night the San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Lakers lost game 1 in NBA playoffs first round. Since the introduction of the 16 teams playoffs in the NBA it’s the first time the first two seeded teams in a conference lose game 1 in the first round.

On Saturday, April 16 the NBA playoffs 2011 are starting. The regular season ended with the Chicago Bulls at the top of the Eastern Conference and the San Antonio Spurs at the topo of the Western Conference.
