Grace Dell Nichols, this is her birth name, was born on December 28, 1932 in Robbins, Illinois. Nichelle Nichols is famous mostly for playing Uhura in the Star Trek saga. She also collaborated with NASA to recruit women and minority personnel and promote space missions.

Michael Dorn was born on December 9, 1952 in Luling, Texas. He’s most famous for playing Worf in Star Trek, from the TV show “Star Trek: The Next Generation” to four season of the TV show “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” and in some movies of the saga.

Jonathan Scott Frakes was born on August 19, 1952 Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. He’s particularly famous for playing William Riker in “Star Trek: The Next Generation” but also in some movies and occasionally in the other TV shows of the saga. He’s also a director, sometimes a producer and lately he’s teaching directing.

Eugene Wesley “Gene” Roddenberry was born on August 19, 1921 in El Paso, Texas. He’s most famous as the creator of Star Trek, where there’s an optimistic future in which humans seek to realize their dreams and inner aspirations rather than greedy ambitions.

James Benjamin Blish was born on May 23, 1921 in East Orange, New Jersey, USA. In 1968 he moved to Oxford, England, where he worked until his death in 1975 from lung cancer. He’s famous for writing the Cities in Flight saga, the novel “A Case of Conscience” and many other space travel and colonization stories. He also wrote many Star Trek novels and anthologies.
