Pietro Mennea in a race in 1972

This morning, the great athlete Pietro Mennea passed away. He was nicknamed the Arrow of the South for his speed and his origins in Southern Italy. He won several medals in the Olympics, in the European Championships and in the first edition of the World Championships. In 1979, he set the world record in the 200 m with 19.72 seconds.

Yesterday, the British writer James Herbert passed away. He became famous for novels such as “The Rats” and its sequels and “The Fog”. He’s considered a master of horror but in his first novels he used science fiction basis for his stories.

Anvil of Stars by Greg Bear (Italian edition)

The novel “Anvil of Stars” by Greg Bear was published for the first time in 1992. It’s the sequel to “The Forge of God”.

The Benefactors have failed to save the Earth from destruction but had time to save thousands of human beings. “Ghost Light” is an adventure of the twentysixth season of “Doctor Who” classic series which aired in 1989 featuring the Seventh Doctor and Ace. It follows “Battlefield” and it’s a three parts adventure written by Marc Platt and directed by Alan Wareing.
