A videogame for cancer research
Facebook, Amazon and Google joined the association Cancer Research UK providing the resources necessary to create a videogame for mobile phones that’s really special. Its name, at least its working name, is GeneRun and will be userful to cancer research and allowing anyone to examine a mountain of data to find small changes in genes that may cause cancer forms.
In the Garden of Iden by Kage Baker
The novel “In the Garden of Iden” by Kage Baker was published for the first time in 1997. It’s the first novel in the Company series.
Dr. Zeus, Inc., also known simply as the Company, has discovered the secret of immortality. For its long-term tests, it developed time travel and this has allowed it to accumulate enormous wealth going into the past to save lost artworks but also extinct animals and plants. The immortals that are created make rescue operations on behalf of the Company in various periods.
Doctor Who – Battlefield
“Battlefield” is the first adventure of the twentysixth season of “Doctor Who” classic series which aired in 1989 featuring the Seventh Doctor and Ace. It follows “The Greatest Show in the Galaxy” and it’s a four parts adventure written by Ben Aaronovitch and directed by Michael Kerrigan.
Responding to a distress signal, the Seventh Doctor (Sylvester McCoy) and Ace (Sophie Aldred) arrive near Lake Vortigern in England. There, UNIT is having some problems with some nuclear missiles and things get worse with the arrival of some knights in medieval armors who also use energy weapons.
The situation and the presence of the Doctor lead to recalling Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart (Nicholas Courtney) from his retirement. Together with Ancelyn, a knight of King Arthur, they’ll face the witch Morgaine and her warriors, arrived from a parallel universe, who think that the Doctor is Merlin.
Despite its problems the Dragon spacecraft has reached the International Space Station
The Dragon spacecraft has just completed a major step of its CRS-2 (Cargo Resupply Service 2) mission being captured by the Canadarm2 robotic arm of the International Space Station. The docking operation will be performed by NASA astronauts Kevin Ford and Tom Marshburn to bring the Dragon to berth to the Harmony module. After the initial complications, this phase of the mission will really be a no-brainer.
