Claudia Christian (photo ©Davidhonl) was born Claudia Ann Coghlan on August 10, 1965, in Glendale, California, USA.

Her family moved to Connecticut, where Claudia Christian became interested in acting during her childhood. Some years later, when her family returned to California, she decided to start a career as an actress, meanwhile doing various jobs to support herself.

It was in 1984 that Claudia Christian started having some roles in television productions. They were small roles although some were in famous TV shows such as “Dallas” and “T.J. Hooker”. In the following year, she had better luck with her first series regular role on “Berrenger’s”, but the show didn’t last long.

In the following years, Claudia Christian started alternating roles in TV shows and in movies such as “The Hidden” (1987), “Clean and Sober” (1988), “Never on Tuesday” (1988) and several others, not always successful.

In 1994, Claudia Christian started playing Susan Ivanova in the TV show “Babylon 5“. It’s the role she’s most famous for and more than twenty years after her debut she keeps on being remembered by the fandom of the series, always very passionate. She participated in the first four seasons of the series and then left it in the circumstances reported differently by the various people involved. The series finale was shot at the end of the fourth season because it wasn’t sure there would be a fifth one so Claudia Christian is in it.

Despite the problems that caused Claudia Christian to leave “Babylon 5”, in 1998 she had time to play the role of Ivanova also in the TV movies related to the show “Babylon 5: In the Beginning” and “Babylon 5: Thirdspace”.

In the following years, Claudia Christian had many other roles in TV shows and movies such as “True Rights” (2000) and “The Failures” (2003). On television, she had regular roles on “Broken News” and “Starhyke”, occasionally directing a few episodes.

During her career, Claudia Christian has occasionally lent her voice to characters in video games and to audio productions such as the adventure “The Reaping” connected to the TV show “Doctor Who”.

Claudia Christian has written two autobiographies: “My Life With Freaks and Geeks”, available on Amazon USA, Amazon UK, and Amazon Canada, and “Babylon Confidential: A Memoir of Love, Sex, and Addiction”, available on Amazon USA, Amazon UK, and Amazon Canada.

Claudia Christian is also a musician and released a number of records. In the production of her CD “Once Upon a Time” she reunited with a former colleague from the TV show “Babylon 5”, Bill Mumy, also an actor and musician.

There are some productions both in TV and cinema with Claudia Christian in their cast about to be released so we can expect to see her soon, hoping that they’ll be new success!
