Christopher Lloyd began his acting career in the 1960s in stage plays. Especially in the 1970s, he worked a lot on Broadway and also started finding roles in television and cinema productions. His cinema debut was in the movie “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” in 1975. His first major role on television was as Reverend Jim Ignatowski in the TV show “Taxi”, for which he won the Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 1982 and 1983.

At the beginning of the 1980s, Christopher Lloyd played some roles in movies of very different genres, such as “The Postman Always Rings Twice” (1981), “Star Trek III: The Search for Spock” (1984), and “The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension” (1984).

Christopher Lloyd started playing Emmett “Doc” Brown, his most iconic movie character, in the 1985 film “Back to the Future”. It was his first movie directed by Robert Zemeckis, followed by “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” (1988), “Back to the Future – Part II” (1989), and “Back to the Future – Part III” (1990). An animated TV show was also produced with some parts about Doc Brown with Bill Nye, which aired between 1991 and 1992.

In the early 1990s, the many movies in which Christopher Lloyd participated include “The Addams Family” (1991) and its sequel “Addams Family Values” (1993), in which he plays Uncle Fester, up to “My Favorite Martian” (1999). In those years, he had roles in various TV movies and shows, for example, as a regular in “Deadly Games”, broadcast between 1995 and 1996.

In the last decade, Christopher Lloyd also kept on working in cinema and television as a regular in the TV shows “I Dream” (2004), “Clubhouse” (2005), and “Stacked” (2005/2006) and as a recurring character in various seasons of “Cyberchase”. At the end of the decade, he reprised the role of Doc Brown in a number of video games based on the Back to the Future saga released over the years.

In recent years, Christopher Lloyd kept on appearing in various TV shows as a guest star, from “Fringe” to “Granite Flats”, from “The Big Bang Theory” to “12 Monkeys”, lending his voice in the animated series “Over the Garden Wall”. Some movies he participated in are in various stages of production.

Christopher Lloyd is an actor who has an extraordinary amount of roles behind him, but in many ways isn’t appreciated as it deserves. He’s capable of great transformations, ranging from a Klingon to Uncle Fester, and in general has a great expressiveness and for these reasons, his fans adore him.
