For the agricultural cooperative Astarte, every day is a challenge to produce something despite the very difficult climate conditions. However, the Imperial Senate recommends an attack to retake the Mongolia system. In theory, the Senate has no power over military strategy, but the hostility already existing in the politicians supporting the motion would cause major problems if the recommendation weren’t heeded.

The novel “An Antarctic Mystery” (“La Sphinx des glaces”) by Jules Verne was published for the first time in 1897. It was published in various translations into English, sometimes with the title “The Sphinx of the Ice Realm”.

Jeorgling intends to return to the USA after spending time in the Kerguelen Islands for personal reasons. He asks to be accepted as a passenger on the ship Halbrane, but Captain Len Guy initially seems vehemently opposed. However, when the captain discovers that Jeorgling is from Connecticut and knows the story of Arthur Gordon Pym, he changes his mind.

During the voyage, the Halbrane encounters an iceberg on which the body of a sailor from the ship Jane is found. The man has a note stating that other members of his crew are still alive. Jeorgling believed that Arthur Gordon Pym’s story was fictional, but he must accept the idea that it’s a true account.

The novel “In Our Stars” by Jack Campbell was published for the first time in 2024. It’s the first book in “The Doomed Earth” duology.

Lieutenant Selene Genji of the Unified Fleet watches in horror as Earth is destroyed. The weapon that achieved such a devastating effect also creates a ripple in space-time that sends her and the spaceship Pyrenees back in time approximately 40 years. The Earth Guard spaceship Vigilant, patrolling the area, discovers the wreck of the Pyrenees and Selene, who is still alive.

When Selene Genji awakens on the Vigilant, she thinks she has been captured by members of the Spear of Humanity. She realizes she is in 2140, but the doctor treating her discovers that part of Selene’s DNA is alien, and gets scared. Lieutenant Kayl Owen is intrigued and decides to help her, but someone in the Earth Guard simply wants to get rid of them.
