The Ravine (Les Peiroulets) by Vincent van Gogh (1889)

Last Saturday, I visited the exhibition dedicated to Vincent van Gogh open in Trieste, Italy, at the Revoltella Museum until June 30, 2024. It’s an extraordinary opportunity to admire many paintings by this great artist on loan from the Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo, in the Netherlands, and some on loan from the National Gallery of Rome for a total of 49 paintings and drawings.

Jim Morrison received a posthumous pardon concerning a charge for indecent exposure dating from 1969. The initiative started from Florida Governor Charlie Crist in 2007, later it was officially submitted to the state Board of Executive Clemency and yesterday it was voted in favor.

Starting from October 8 and until February 6, 2011 Rome is going to offer and extraordinary exhibition at the Vittoriano complex: a lot of Vincent Van Gogh paintings but also various ones by Gauguin, Cezanne, Pissarro and Millet. The title is “Vincent Van Gogh: timeless country and modern city” to point out the artist’s favourite subjects.
