NFL: owners and players reached an agreement and the season has been saved
The first rumors arrived yesterday morning, the official confirmation came yesterday afternoon: the players have approved the new collective bargaining agreement the owners had already voted on Thursday. After more than four months of lock out at last the ten-year agreement arrived and the NFL season has been saved.

With the failure of the negotiations for the renewal of the collective agreement the players’ union has been decertified because that way it’s easier for them to take legal actions against the owners with the antitrust. Owners have started the lock out, therefore stopping all activities with the exception of the draft, to be held in late April.
The Green Bay Packers win Super Bowl XLV
The Green Bay Packers reaching the Super Bowl is a little surprise: they started from the Wild Card as the sixth seed, winning three away games. The hadn’t reached the Super Bowl since the ‘9’s, when the leader of the team was Brett Favre, a name now disowned by many fans after he went to play with the hated Minnesota Vikings. Their win was a surprise but it was deserved.
