Marco Simoncelli was born on January 20, 1987 in Cattolica. When he was just 7 years old he started taking part in minimoto races and at 12 he became Italian champion.

In 2002 Marco Simoncelli became European champion in class 125cc and in that year he made his debut in the World Championship in that class.

In 2006 Marco Simoncelli moved to class 250cc and in 2008 became its world champion.

In 2009 Marco Simoncelli took part in two Gran Prix of the Superbike World Championship.

In 2010 Marco Simoncelli moved to the MotoGP class. Today, during the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix, he was involved in an unfortunate accident where he lost control of his bike and ended up in the path of two other bikes that were coming and the drivers couldn’t avoid hitting him. Despite the quick rescue, Marco Simoncelli died from the injuries he suffered.

During his career, Marco Simoncelli took part in 151 World Championship Grand Prix, winning 14 of them and going on the podium 31 times. Nicknamed SuperSic, he was considered Valentino Rossi’s successor.

Marco Simoncelli was still very young and he was supposed to have all his life ahead of him. More than ever, any comment on his death would sound just dumb. Goodbye Marco!
