The novel “The Humanoids” by Jack Williamson has been published for the first time in 1948-1949 in the magazine “Astounding”. This novel is set thousands of years into the future, when many planets have been colonized by humans. On one of the many inhabited worlds a scientist discovers the secrets of rhodomagnetics and, frightened by the terrible energies that can be released, he tries to use it for peaceful purposes. After years of work he builds the perfect androids whose primary directive is “to serve and obey and guard men from harm”, the Humanoids.

Yesterday the sad news arrived of American actor Jeff Conaway’s death due to complications of pneumonia. Jeffrey Charles William Michael Conaway was born on October 5, 1950 in New York. He’s famous for working in the movie “Grease” and in the TV shows “Taxi” and “Babylon 5”.

Vincent Leonard Price Jr. was born on May 27, 1911, in St. Louis, Missouri. He died on October 25, 1993, due to lung cancer. He’s particularly famous for starring in many horror movies, often low budget.

Vincent Price was recognizable for his voice, his aristocratic manners, his height, and his expression midway between serious and comic. His presence turned so many films that otherwise would probably have been forgotten in cult movies that are still broadcast on TV today.
