God Emperor of Dune by Frank Herbert

The novel “God Emperor of Dune” by Frank Herbert was published for the first time in 1981. It’s the fourth book in the Dune saga and follows “Children of Dune”.

Siona Atreides led a group of rebels to the Emperor’s fortress, where they stole some of his secret journals. Discovered, they are chased by the Emperor’s D-wolves and only Siona manages to survive thanks to the sacrifice of one of her fellow rebels.

The latest in a series of Duncan Idaho gholas attempts to kill the Emperor after accusing him of oppressing humanity. His attempt fails and he’s killed. A new ghola is produced and the Imperial majordomo, Moneo Atreides, must manage him and Ix’s new ambassador, Hwi Noree, while trying to uncover every possible new plot against the Emperor.

Santiago by Mike Resnick

The novel “Santiago” by Mike Resnick was published for the first time in 1986.

Even for a very high-profile bounty hunter like Sebastian Cain, the 20 million credits offered by the Democracy for the capture of the legendary Santiago is a huge bounty. The problem is that no one seems to know what he looks like and there are people who even claim that he doesn’t even exist.

When Sebastian Cain discovers information that might finally allow him to find Santiago, everything changes. The collaboration with the journalist Virtue Mackenzie seems unlikely but for her, interviewing Santiago would be the scoop of her life. Their search involves meeting various unique and generally dangerous people.

Ncuti Gatwa in 2019

The BBC has announced that actor Ncuti Gatwa has been cast as the 14th Doctor in the TV show “Doctor Who”. Russell T Davies, who is again the showrunner and is scheduled to start the next season’s production soon, posted on Instagram a photo of him with Gatwa. Unlike what happened with the previous announcements, this one came as a surprise and not in a televised event.

“Farewell” is the tenth episode of the second season of the TV show “Star Trek: Picard”, it follows “Hide and Seek” and it’s the second season finale. It’s available in the USA on the Paramount+ streaming platform and in many other countries on Amazon Prime Video.

The travelers and Tallinn (Orla Brady) must try to save Renée Picard (Penelope Mitchell) and the Europa mission but Adam Soong (Brent Spiner) seems willing to do anything to prevent the launch. Everyone must make crucial choices for their future.

Frozen Hell by John W. Campbell Jr.

The novel “Frozen Hell” by John W. Campbell Jr. was published for the first time in 2019.

An anomalous magnetic source is detected during a scientific mission in Antarctica. Some of the scientists go in search of the source and discover an object that is clearly of artificial origin. Its position within the ice indicates that it has been there for an extremely long time and the creature discovered next to what looks like an alien spaceship must have died. Or so they think when they bring the Thing to the scientific base to study it.
