Paul Linebarger aka Cordwainer Smith in 1953

Paul Myron Anthony Linebarger, this was his real name, was born on July 11, 1913 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As an expert of Chinese politics, he wrote a number of important essays. As a fiction writer, he’s best known as Cordwainer Smith and his science fiction stories that belong to the fictional universe of the Instrumentality of Man.

John Wyndham

John Wyndham Parkes Lucas Beynon Harris, this was his full name, was born on July 10, 1903 in the village of Dorridge, England. John Wyndham is famous especially for his novels: “The Day of the Triffids” (1951), “The Kraken Wakes” (1953), “Re-Birth” or “The Chrysalids” (1955) and “The Midwich Cuckoos” (1957).

River of Gods by Ian McDonald

The novel “River of Gods” by Ian McDonald was published for the first time in 2004. It won the British Science Fiction Award.

In 2047 the hundredth anniversary of India’s independence is approaching but in time it fragmented into a number of states. Doctor Who - Silver Nemesis

“Silver Nemesis” is an adventure of the twentyfifth season of “Doctor Who” classic series, which aired in 1988 featuring the Seventh Doctor and Ace. It follows “The Happiness Patrol” and it’s a three parts adventure written by Kevin Clarke and directed by Chris Clough.

The Scottish tennis player Andy Murray won the Wimbledon tournament 2013 defeating the Serbian Novak Djokovic in the final 6-4 7-5 6-4. For Murray it’s the first Wimbledon title.
